This somehow escaped here at festival writer. Maybe it should be thoughboatin, or thoughtbegoatten.  If Jonah in the belly is the ship of the world he has not yet gone under. We wait for his submergence and expect to hear his voice. for Jonah is everywhere. Versions continue to surface. A search is to be mounted below. 

 

 

I like this piece a lot but am no longer doing the journal. It is a wonderful piece. I would like to include it in a forthcoming anthology titled "Why We Right                Write Outside the Lines," which is primarily focused on why authors write the way they do. I love the character in this piece and feel like it represents t he spirit of that anthology. Please let me know if it is still available and if you would like to have it published in the anthology. You would get a copy of the book that is to come out late this year.
